He’s been at work. There’s no ‘finally’ back about it.

So, it makes me kinda pissy to hear/read :
Canada Post workers finally back to work.

Umm. No. Not quite right.

Vince works for Canada Post and is not in a unionized position. He’s in management.

I can tell you that for the last three weeks he’s been working twelve-hour days, if not longer.

He’s been getting into the office at 5:30 a.m. in the hopes of still being able to put in a full day’s work despite being held up by the union on his way in. He’s a very conscientious worker, always has been.

For Vince, the last three weeks have included long days, physical delivery of government mail when some union workers refused to do so, a police escort out of the office when there was a ‘nobody leaves the building’ threat, stressful chatter of possible lay offs if the strike went on, and much more.

In other words, he’s been at work.

I realize that Canada Post is mainly made up of unionized workers, but there are some, about twenty thousand others, who have been at work. Behind the scenes.

Working harder than ever.

Just something to think about.
Or maybe I just needed to get that out.

Yah. That’s probably it.
